Nexus - Carers Involvement Group

This group meets every two months in Cardiff.

The group is open to any Carer (or former Carer) of any adult person  with Mental Health Needs [those  needs being recognised as requiring support from Older Peoples’ Mental Health Services i.e. people of any age with Dementia or older people who develop other mental health needs (such as depression) later in life (usually 65+ years)].

The group helps in the development and delivery of services by:

  • monitoring quality and giving feedback to service providers,
  • identifying areas of difficulty or gaps in local service provision,
  • ascertaining the views of various peer groups/individual carers and feeding this information into appropriate forum,
  • encouraging other carers to voice their opinions, concerns, ideas on the quality of local service provision,
  • providing elected carer representatives at various joint planning/advisory meetings,
  • providing a voice for service users of older people’s mental health services.

If you would like more information on the group or would like to attend a future meeting please contact Judith Parry on 029 2022 2000.
