Summary of aims & objectives:
Mission Statement: Cardiff Institute for the Blind exists to enable visually impaired people within the counties of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to live a full and normal life. The Institute seeks to influence the policies and practices of other organistaions, individuals and service providers, in the light of its experience and research. The Institute, in accordance with the resources available, complements the range of services provided, by directly contributing to its own set of services.

- Hours of opening: Monday-Thursday 8.45am-4.45pm, Friday 8.45am-3.45pm
All the above are accessible to any person with a visual impairment, regardless of registration, living within our catchment area. Services are available in both English and Welsh. We do not specifically provide mental health services, but we adhere to our equal opportunities programme and have in the past worked closely with the rehabilitation team based at Whitchurch Hospital. Volunteers do not have to be visually impaired.
Referrals: Self referrals and referrals from other professionals and organisations, both voluntary and statutory
