Summary of aims & objectives:

  • Primary stage alcohol-free rehabilitation service providing hostel accommodation and personal development opportunities for people who have a problem around alcohol


  • We offer a varied intervention and resettlement programme with a client-centred approach
  • One to one counselling
  • Group work to include eg alcohol education, relapse prevention, anger managment
  • Practical life skills and development services to include budgeting, cooking, debt counselling, social activities
  • Dyfrig House is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week and offers a service to up to 21 males and females who must be eligible to claim Housing Benefit
  • Catchment area: Wales and England – will accept from outside area
  • People accepted with mental health problems, learning difficulties, Wernicke Korsakoff syndrome dependent upon level of need and ability to self care and self cater
  • Minimum age 18
  • After care and follow up, halfway house, contact encouraged
  • Length of stay – as long as necessary, dependent upon ability to retain  commitment to addressing their alcohol-related issues
