The Wallich - Bridgend Tenancy Support and Bond Board

Bridgend County Borough

Voluntary Sector                                              Charity No. 1004103

Summary of aims & objectives:

Tenancy Support

  • To provide floating support to vulnerable people in their own tenancies
  • To reduce the numbers of people living in unsuitable or temporary accommodation
  • To enable people to remain in their own homes

Bond Board

  • To encourage tenancy of private, rented accommodation
  • To foster good relations with local landlords

Tenancy Support is administered by workers that will visit people in danger of losing their home for any reason. They will be provided with suitable advice and information and referred to any third party agency that may be helpful. Wherever possible, workers will try to ensure the person is able to stay in their home and will look toward a long term strategy for a secure tenancy

The Bond Board Service provides a Bond, or guarantee, in place of a cash deposit on private rented accommodation for people on low income who are in need of housing. The bond guarantees landlords that, should the tenancy agreement be broken, they will be compensated as necessary. The Bond Board will also provide housing advice and resettlement services for those people using the service.

Referrals can be made through external agencies or be self referrals. Individuals can be met at The Wallich, 5A Market Street, Bridgend
