Adult Mental Health Services

Social work staff are an integral part of the Community Mental Health Teams [CMHT’s], which are led by Cardiff and the Vale NHS Trust. They provide social work support, assessments by an Approved Social Worker [ASW], under the Mental Health Act 1983, and assessments under the NHS and Community Care Act 1990, and other legislation, ie Carers Recognition and Services Act. The staff are based in the 5 sector CMHT’s and provide a visiting service to the Sealock Centre.
